With two eclipses and six planets in reverse this month, June presents a wild ride of twists and turns.

A backward-moving Mercury joins the cast of retrograde planets amid a sequence of emotionally charged eclipses in which the curtain comes down on an old storyline and sets the stage for a new drama to unfold.

The month begins with a lunar eclipse in passionate Sagittarius (on June 5th), opposing a Venus retrograde in wily Gemini and bookended by a solar eclipse in the private sign of Cancer on the solstice (June 20th), portending intense energy this summer and defining the themes of the next 18 months. Meanwhile, speedy Mercury turns retrograde mid-month, joining the backwards motion with a majority of heavy-hitting outer planets. This lineup heightens the already pent-up energy and brings even more heat to the developing drama of this pivotal time. In the midst of the volatility, we need to step back, turn inward, and realign with our deepest human values. We have choices and our choices matter. Exercising Gemini’s gifts of flexibility and adaptability is key in negotiating this important turning point. Eclipses accelerate change; and as the world surrounding us speeds up, we’re called to slow down, pay attention, and tune in to what’s going on around us, from the daily news cycle to our internal observations in order to untangle the glut of information so that we may rewrite our story going forward.

GEMINI (May 21–June 20) Happy birthday, Twins! Your star shines bright this month as you rethink how you want to show up in this new role for which you’ve been preparing. Ignore the critics, for now, especially those in your professional sphere. While you finesse your big reveal, a full moon-lunar eclipse (on the 5th) in your partnership house asks you to let go of any past relationship issues (or partners) that no longer serve you. Lightening your load around significant others creates some needed space for you to think as your ruling planet goes retrograde on the 18th. That’s followed by a solar eclipse on the 20th, in your money house, so review your finances and reconfigure your resources, including your many talents, to carve out a new path toward financial security. No need to pick just one income stream either. As Gemini poet Walt Whitman celebrates in his epic poem, Leaves of Grass, you “contain multitudes.”

CANCER (June 21–July 22) What needs to change in your daily grind? With a full-moon eclipse landing in your house of the day-to-day to-do’s, something’s gotta give. It may be a boring job or burdensome responsibility that’s cramping your shell. Trust your gut more than your rational mind, it has the better intel for you this month. As the restrictions relax, there may be an opportunity to travel or do a silent retreat mid-month that aids you in releasing an unconscious complex or crippling anxiety. You could gain helpful insights in the process. Also, with Mercury moving in reverse in your house of identity alongside a solar eclipse in your sign at the solstice, you’re busy rethinking your image, making tweaks and adjustments around a brand new you. If flights do get cancelled, take that trip inside your mind.

LEO (July 23–Aug. 22) You’ve been reviewing your old Rolodex and rebooting a few past friendships. Who made the cut? How do their values reflect your own current set of goals? How does this image compare to the you and the them back then? Curiously, this reevaluation has awakened some old creative projects that are up for review as the full-moon eclipse casts its shadow in your house of creative expression. What’s worth resurrecting and remaking? What needs to be tossed in the compost pile? A Solar eclipse in your house of the subconscious, coupled with brainy Mercury’s backward dance has you tongue tied about the symbols popping up in your dreams. Just write ‘em down for now and analyze them in July when Mercury goes forward again; they could turnout to be a rich font of creativity.

VIRGO (Aug. 23–Sept. 22) A full-moon eclipse in your domain of home and family at the beginning of the month prods you to jettison some old baggage in the form of inherited beliefs that you’ve been hefting around for a long time. What was sacred to your Mama isn’t necessarily meaningful to you. As famed writer Toni Morrison once said, “Wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.” Lately, many of you have been living in close, constant contact with your family members, and it’s probably time to confront how the lines may have blurred around space or privacy, causing tension to build. Try to maintain your cool, find some alone time, and shift your mindset from fed up to seeing the situation as an opportunity to get clarity around career values or to improve work/life balance. No need to get snippy about it. Stick with the facts but stay with your feelings. Communication is key. Then on the 20th, a solar eclipse accompanied by your ruling planet Mercury shifting into reverse in your house of friends and groups pushes you to review your social circle; new blood allowed in at this time offers the potential to make friends that become like family.

LIBRA (Sept. 23–Oct. 22)Your legendary balancing act gets put to the test this month around your ability to listen, learn, and share information. A charmer by nature, at the full-moon eclipse early in the month, you’re called to hone your networks and edit your communiques. In the process, you discover that pruning away dogma and dispersing hot air, makes for more effective and ultimately, more meaningful content. Whether you’re trying to publish a book, expand your presence on social media, or explore foreign markets, consider your audience first, and you’ll find others responding to you with more openness and interest, particularly where your career is concerned. By mid-month, as the mercurial planet back-tracks in your career house, you’re moved to rethink and revise your goals. The solar eclipse on the solstice in this same arena requires you to plant new seeds around your career direction or for some, your retirement. At the end of the month, Mars, planet of action, blasts into its own sign of Aries in your partnership house pushing you out to meet and greet (even if it’s online). With passion to burn, you can expect to be pouring much of your energy over the next six months into your relationships—at a safe distance, of course.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23–Nov. 21) Change your mind; change your life, Scorpio. If it were only that simple, says the fixed, control-centered sign—yeah, that would be you. Yet this month, as a full-moon eclipse shines a light on how you earn and spend your money, there’s an opportunity to make a big shift. As you loosen your grip on long held beliefs around finances, you invite a change in perspective that breathes new life toward making necessary changes regarding your income. Maybe it’s time to step fully into self-employment? Or maybe you need to lose those rose-colored glasses, settle into a steady role, and create a realistic budget. With value-conscious Venus doing a backward shuffle in your house of other people’s money at the same time, you’re reevaluating the resources you share with a partner, including debt. If one or the other of you has been out of work, stimulus checks aside, managing this degree of uncertainty can be tricky. A new-moon solar eclipse at the solstice in your house of knowledge, calls you to widen your field of vision via learning, entertaining new philosophies, or exploring a distant sacred site. With travel restrictions still in place and most of our cultural ceremonies shifting to online video compilations, summon your supernatural powers to conjure homegrown magic. Stay engaged with the mystery.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22–Dec. 21) While it may feel downright rude to your righteous sense of justice to not be taking more public action in the midst of the fray, you’ll serve your soul as well as your family best by staying at home this month and engaging your creativity within and even towards your four walls. Maybe it’s time to finally repair that bathroom leak or finish installing those new kitchen cabinets. Meanwhile, a full moon eclipse in your sign on the 5th asks you to shed some aspect of your identity. Letting go of an outworn idea about yourself consequently brings clarity to your relationships, enabling you to attract those who might better fit your need for space and independence. For some time, you’ve been working hard at overhauling your values and how you earn your living. A solar eclipse on the solstice prods you to dig deeper, gather information, research investments, or seek out grant money aimed at supporting an idea or initiative that’s been percolating. Toward the end of the month, Mars the motivator moves into its own sign, jumpstarting your enthusiasm, not to mention your passion, and empowering you to move forward.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22–Jan. 19) Hard working sea-goats will be feeling an uncharacteristic urge to retreat solo up a peaceful mountain top far away from the work front. We whole-heartedly support this escape and also hope that your backyard happens to be an endless mountain meadow. The full moon eclipse in your house of the subconscious makes it difficult to express the profound shifts happening within you. Don’t worry about putting it into words. Releasing psychic detritus breathes new life into your daily rhythms and subsequently, benefits your physical body. As you take the time to review your values and reconnect to your inner-life, revelations around your most important relationships may start to bubble up as Mercury retrogrades through your partnership house alongside the solstice solar eclipse. And suddenly, you find you have more emotional energy to devote to your intimates. The month ends with a power surge on the home and family front that pushes you to start puttering and fixing things around the house.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20–Feb. 18) A lunar eclipse early in the month in your house of friendships and hopes and wishes opposite back-tracking Venus in your house of creativity and fun could set off seismic changes in your social circles, posing questions around how they support your values and your creativity, or not. Be open to the shift as it could open up an exciting new milieu. Sometimes a long-held dream that you’ve never acted on can become a burden. Let it go in order to breathe energy into the new ideas that are blowing in. Perhaps there’s an untapped talent you’ve been holding back. See what happens if you can foster new ideas and skills this month. As the innovators of the zodiac, we need your humanitarian sensibility and forward-thinking ideas more than ever. Near the solstice, a new-moon solar eclipse in your health and habits house brings a renewed focus to how you nourish both body and soul.

PISCES (Feb. 19–March 20) Our lovely fish have great potential this month to bring greater beauty into the world. The lunar eclipse on the 5th could give you the oomph you need to cut loose some aspect of your career that feels like an anchor tied around your ankle. Leave that rusty weight behind and let your creative boat float. If you need to set your sails in a new direction career-wise, this is a good month to tack. The solar eclipse in your house of creativity on the solstice gives you license to transmit a heartfelt message you may be feeling compelled to express as your contribution to the collective healing we can all be a part of now. And don’t forget to have fun in the process. It’s required reading for your sense of wholeness. Know that whatever new beginnings come into view this month, they are the fresh starts you’ve been waiting for. By the end of the month, you’re ready to crank up your cash flow. These big dreams of yours, they’re going to need funding.

ARIES (March 21–April 19) A lunar eclipse at the beginning of the month prompts you to leave behind an old belief that draws a line between AD and BC. As you erase this set-in-stone philosophy, your worldview changes and your mind opens up. This aha moment brings new perspective to an old problem that you keep tripping on. Your thoughts and movements become more nimble. While all this change may be frustrating as well as psychically draining, the more you can reconsider your beliefs, the easier it is to navigate this brave new world. And the more you can open up to inspiration the more you expand the options. Maybe there’s an online course that’s caught your eye. Go for it. You’ll find support from friends in high places as this new vision sharpens, and you’ll have the resources you need to field the changes coming your way. The solar eclipse on the solstice spotlights the beginning of a new phase around your homelife as you take cautious steps with home projects or move house entirely.

TAURUS (April 20–May 20) A lunar eclipse at the beginning of the month could bring changes around finances. The shift could range from a drop in your stocks to a grant or stimulus funds coming in. We hope it’s the latter! If you’ve already done your due diligence examining your finances, it could also be a wonderful time to have a look under the psychological hood and go in for a tune up. A therapist could offer the direction you need towards a more mindful approach to hard but necessary conversations. There is celestial support with both the Mercury retrograde and the solar eclipse at the summer solstice for building new communication skills by observing your thoughts first, even writing them down, before blurting them out. Consider looking into the work of author Byron Katie who teaches the practice of asking yourself these questions: “Is it true? Can you absolutely know it’s true? What happens when you believe that thought? Who would you be without that thought?” This can help you discern what really needs saying. Toward the end of the month when Venus moves forward your money problems will likely start to straighten out.

If you know your rising sign, read that too; it’s often more relevant.
